the mission statement bitty.

we intend to entertain you with a hot brand of percussion - driven roots music. we're scottish world musicians. if jimmy shand came from Cuba all the "world music" chancers would be calling him the greatest thing since striped toothpaste and eejits would make documentary films about him (making sure that he got none of the profits).

enough of the serious stuff. now for a bit of light-hearted slagging.

we despise what passes for traditional music "criticism" in this country. most of it is bullshit fuelled by total ignorance of the forms of traditional music. you know who you are!!

something else that really hacks us aff is the crowd that think that scottish music is "deid". our usual response is tae dare them tae say it again…you have been warned.

we'll play anywhere you like in front of any audience, the rougher the better. don't pigeonhole us. we have interests in all kinds of music and have played in all kinds of bands. we're open to anything except prejudice and don't suffer fools gladly.
